Stakeholder Meetings

DC Lawyers for Youth believes that juvenile justice issues impact the entire community, not just children who are arrested or held in the custody of the Department of Youth Services. We understand that these issues impact children, parents, teachers, neighbors, churches, advocates, community leaders and everyone in the District. To that end, DCLY participates in various meetings with stakeholders in the juvenile justice community, including other juvenile justice organizations, educational institutions, elected officials and local youth. DCLY also reaches out to local youth-serving organizations and facilities to stay aware of community resources available to children in the District.

In coming months, DCLY will encourage increased community discussion on issues relating to juvenile justice in order to engage the entire community in promoting positive change for youth in the District.
